Resume [last update: September 2024, English version only, Japanese version not updated yet and available on demand]

Bio

I am a versatile researcher in physical activity, sports science and human engineering. I obtained a PhD in exercise physiology from the French West Indies and Guiana University (now called French West Indies University). I also completed my undergraduate and master's studies in sport science at Lyon 1 University. I have gradually shifted my research focus from clinical exercise physiology to the evaluation of physical behaviors. My current research focuses on the development of new hardware and software methods for measuring physical behaviors and explore the relationship between physical activity and health.

My current research activities include:

Job history

2021 - … Associate professor at Ochanomizu University, Department of Human-Environmental Sciences, Center for Interdiscipinary AI and Data Science.
Visiting Researcher at NIBIOHN.
2020 - 2021 Researcher at NIBIOHN.
2014 - 2020 Project associate professor at Ochanomizu University, Leading Graduate School.
2012 - 2014 Postdoctoral fellow at NIBIOHN [2012-2013: FRSQ fellow, 2013-2014: JSPS fellow].
2009 - 2012 Postdoctoral fellow at CRCHUM, LBUM.

Education

2005 - 2008 PhD in Sports Science, French West Indies and Guiana University
Sickle cell trait carrier and physical exercise: hemorheological and vascular abnomalities
2002 - 2005 Master's degree in Sports Science, Lyon 1 University
1999 - 2001 Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Lyon 1 University

Hobbies & lifestyle

I like swimming, especially in open water, outdoor activities, boardsports (skiing, snowboarding, surfing...) and camping in the wild (well it has been a while !!). I used to play ice hockey at national level [Lyon Hockey Club, vintage picture coming soon]. I enjoy learning new motor skills and am currently focusing on progressing in both skateboarding and piano. I am also an active travelling enthusiast with >3000km completed every year on my mamachari bicycle.
